A new frontier in software development

One of the things as founders of CPS1 we value is empowering people.

Finding ways for everyone to focus on doing their best, eliminating bureaucracy and waste.

We are terrified of processes that make no sense in software development. Unfortunately, some people involved are often so entrenched in these processes that they cannot see that there are alternatives.

The status quo within any company, whether large or small, is very powerful.

It is not always possible to improve and enhance development processes based solely on culture or management.

A shock is often needed. Something that impacts and changes the way of thinking, and that sheds light on new and great possibilities for efficiency and performance gains.

And this shock is certainly not something complex, elaborate, or that requires a long explanation. It is simple, direct and clear.

Let's reflect on a few points:

  • If the software is made to be operated in the cloud, why do we continue to develop it locally on laptops?

  • Why do we continue to deliver business demands every day through new code that was not created where it will be executed?

  • Why insist on bearing all the costs, both in terms of effort and finances, of maintaining homologation, QA and staging environments, only to further bottleneck processes with mediocre results at the end of the day?

Many people are content to create a README, provide a few steps on how to start developing a project, and leave the developer to their own devices to solve all the problems that may arise. That is, of course, if there is a README with instructions at all.

Some more innovative companies have finally woken up to Platform Engineering, which has emerged in recent times as the panacea for solving this type of problem.

However, without tools designed to effectively address these problems, a Platform Engineering team will become nothing more than an luxus team that makes configuration templates and call that a "platform".

Therefore, a very simple and powerful conceptual shift that can effectively address and solve these problems is to stop developing locally and work directly in the cloud.

We believe that given the complexity and other characteristics of cloud-based systems, it will only be possible to effectively increase development capabilities by using a cloud infrastructure managed with automation, rather than locally on each contributor's laptop.

In addition, maintaining quality and consistency without increasing the number of people involved.

This challenging scenario that we find ourselves today is the reason CPS1 was born.

We are here to help companies double their software delivery capacity, elevating the development process to the cloud, with security, speed, quality, visibility and cost control.

It is possible and we have a product capable of doing so.

CPS1 is a Cloud Development Environments (CDE) platform installed in your cloud. In just a few seconds, a development environment is provisioned and configured with your company's IDE, services and tools for development.

Come and learn about the CPS1 platform.
