CPS1 manifest

Before CPS1, Miguel founded Instruct in 2011 and was later joined by Oscar. We were respectively CEO and CTO.

After dozens of custom software development projects were delivered, we were initially hired for software development, but ended up adding more value to our clients by working on various improvements on development processes and delivery.

This is due to our original and pioneering DNA in the adoption and dissemination of DevOps practices, which was incorporated into Instruct's culture since its founding.

In the beginning, Instruct provided consulting and training for the adoption of automated server configuration management, today better known as Infrastructure as Code, in conjunction with Git for versioning.

At the time, these practices were unknown, alongside concepts such as DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) were beginning to emerge.

To demonstrate our pioneering spirit, the book Infrastructure as Code: Managing Servers in the Cloud by Kief Morris, considered one of the greatest authorities on the subject, would only be published in 2016, 5 years after Instruct had already mastered these practices.

Long before DevOps practices became effectively widespread, we were already working with automated development environments, first with VMs and then with containers, in addition to using CI/CD for both custom software projects and infrastructure as code.

We have noticed that with the accelerated adoption of the cloud in recent years, the distance between development and production environments has increased, causing several frictions and inefficiencies in CI/CD processes.

These challenges and problems affect all types of organizations with the most varied profiles.

Unhappy with the current situation regarding the development of cloud-native applications, we decided to close Instruct and build a new platform to take companies' software development processes to the next level.

And so CPS1 was born.

We believe that to truly scale software capabilities and deliveries, it will only be possible with centralized management of development environments, and by abandoning local work on each developer's computer.

This will allow us to maintain quality and consistency without increasing the number of people involved in order to do more and better.

By taking a development environment to the cloud with CPS1, our customers' development process will undergo a transformation, becoming faster, safer, more visible, with higher quality and costs under control.
